Vipers 2 – Bz 7

Vipers 2.0? More like Vipers 1.98c! Should have stayed in beta, boys. QA your goalie a little more before you go live. Amiright? Sigh.

Its so nice to be blogging again. I mean, not so much for the work and definitely not for the fanboyish adulation (?) but, you know. Hobbies. I figure 100,000 hits on the blog means someone is reading this. I wonder how many are bots, trying to post comments to our many insightful articles and recaps? Wait, is Dewey a bot? If he asks me if I have seen any little douche boys I am running the fuck away. Wolfie’s dead! Its all happening again!

I told myself I would blog every game again this year – screw you, awful spring! – so we will see how this goes. So far, so good!

Vipers 2 – Bz 7

Should have named yourself Vipers 12, herp derp!

New Look Zilla!

We had some pretty… Balling? Lines last night. We wildly outshot the Snakes at least 2:1 if the count was accurate in the 1st period. It wasn’t.

Will moved up from defense to form the now-dreaded Richards/Fraser/Booth line. That opened the door for a strong Hewson/Doyle/Gregg line which proceeded a second-and-a-half not-3rd-line of Halverson Halverson and Martin. Which would make a totally bad-ass law firm, if you ask me, which of course you did implicitly by coming to this site.

On defence we seem to be learning towards 6D – welcome to the team, Scott! The other defence you know and they do what they do. Offence? its an odd balance, we admit.

The Game:

We absolutely dominated the Vipers early in the game. The score could have been anything but their goalie kept them in it. We spent most of the time in their zone putting shots on or around their net. For awhile we didn’t think we were getting anywhere but on shot ~15 or so we finally beat their goalie and the dam burst open.

Will.i.am On Offence seemed to enjoy himself, backskating all night, and had 2 goals on the night. One of them was an insane lazer to the top corner! Dewey assumed he was going to get some of that action but, well, Will. He isn’t used to having so many options! Usually its “why cant I make an outlet? Why am I the only one back? Where is everyone? Do I have to take it all the way? Oh, whatever…” Dewey did manage a nice crossbar, however…

Daniel had a nice breakaway and a nicer goal, I believe he had 2 chances before he put the 3rd away.

Scott seems to have assisted on everything, somehow.

Side note: their goalie was insane. “Wheresthepuckisitherethereidontseeitwhereisthepuck” is not something you want to hear all the time. Amusing, at first, but all the time? Concerning!

Misc.

Boo to the beer tracker – so many small failures, so much thirst. Hooray to Scott, who magically produced a 6 pack. Way to make friends, rookie! Now take your water bottles home. Your friends need a home
