Bz 1 – Splonk 5

Say one thing about recapping a playoff loss to the Splonkers: its better than updating the team’s stats spreadsheet, which is something i just realized is going to have to be done.

Say one other thing about talking about career statistics spreadsheets: its better than recapping a 5-1 loss to the Splonkers. But these things (recaps) happen, I guess. Less frequently this season but I guess you can only put things off for so long. So!

Bladezillas 1 – The Splonkers 5

Where, oh where! Did we go wrong? Buzzfeed seems to believe that information is best presented in list format so I will add some numbers to my ranting here. Journalism! Its whats for dinner?

1. We made mistakes. And that’s not really a problem, most of the time. The Havoc’s parents made mistakes, too, and that turned out… a bad example. Generally, however, in beer-league hockey (bottom division!) play often turns into Timbits shinny for regular stretches. Who doesn’t love playing in corners, the neutral zone? Not a problem unless your opponent is great at recovering broken plays and capitalizing, however.

1.1 (Resolution): Be solid in our own end. Don’t cough up the puck and clear at all costs if there isn’t an easy play. At least 4 goals were turn-overs from broken plays in our end. If a clear fails, or we lose track of the puck in feet/the ether, or take our sweet-ass-time, bad things will happen.

2. We didn’t score 6 goals.

2.1 (Resolution): Score more goals. Right?

3. The Splonkers did not have any beer after their game. Meh.

3.1 (Resolution): Bz had 2 cases, I think? That is a resolution, right? Works for us.

Some positives:

Good, clean game. Just the right amount of physicality for a playoff game. No douche-baggery around the net at either side. It turns out we have enough gear on to take the occasional, “dont forget I am here” slash.

We are approaching our end of year Bz extravaganza! Formal attire is required. Team colors are strongly suggested. Gorgeous women are clearly taken care of!

Game #2 is Tuesday night! See you all there!
