History

The "Bz Best Defenseman Award" began in the spring of 2010 in as much as that's the oldest record available. If earlier: Will Fraser. This Award has been awarded at every ceremony. Until the creation of the Mike Pollard Award it was the final and most distinguished honor a player could receive.

This award is voted on by a given year's voting committee and is based in part on stats, leadership and whatever else we can think of before we are done eating wings at a bar or the Planet Ice Delta parking lot gets too cold.
