Steve “I Wear My Helmet White To Honor My Hero, That One Guy On The Havoc” Halverson has a very long nickname. He also looks pretty bad-ass in a handlebar mustache, knows how to do things clever and artistic with wood most people never considered in woodworking class and can score goals like… someone who has some skill and can move his feet. And look at that photo! He takes faceoffs, too! The more I look at it the more scared I get at the size of that ass. Just look at it. I know its just the angle of the pants but what if it isnt? What then.

Later this would  still apply to Stephen Barichello as well (the not as good as Halverson  part)…though on a side note the lesser Steve’s are really quite good at  throwing their entire bodies into things and remaining uninjured.

What then.

Off the ice

Steve is the guy with the plan. Anecdote: we had a team meeting once, before a game. A lot of us were able to meet it and over a drink we discussed the role of players, positions, and some things we wanted to try. We had a whiteboard, it was that legit. And it was Steve who drew up some plays and explained where we had been going wrong on occasion. Did we win that game? I think so. But more importantly we cycled the puck, our coverage was better and it directly resulted in at least 1 or 2 goals. Steve!

‘And from the mist came Halverson, stick in hand, as if delivered by the hockey gods themselves. From that day forth, he would be known as the better of the Steve’s. ‘

Later this would still apply to Stephen Barichello as well (the not as good as Halverson part)…though on a side note the lesser Steve’s are really quite good at throwing their entire bodies into things and remaining uninjured.
